Our well-trained staff members have therapy degrees, health and fitness specialist certification and years of experience working with all types of injuries and post- surgery needs, specifically working with geriatrics. Through continuing education, they stay up-to-date on cutting edge technology and programming.
Skaalen offers 2 wound care certified (WCC) staff, 1 RN and 1 Physical Therapist. We are experienced in treating vascular (arterial and venous) ulcers, diabetic (neuropathic) ulcers, pressure ulcers, surgical and traumatic wounds, skin disorders, as well as edema management, and foot/nail care. Some of the wound care modalities that we can provide include: wound vac (negative pressure therapy), ultrasound, electrical stimulation, low light laser, multilayer compression wrapping, and complex dressings. Skaalen also has a Certified Lymphedema Therapist on staff.
Wound care management is a collaborative effort from the entire interdisciplinary team.
We provide complete home safety assessments with clients prior to discharge and will also arrange for or provide information for special equipment needs.
